The Charts
by Cactus/Oxyron/Padua

Welcome to the charts chapter of "Attitude #7". I would like to start with thanks to all people, who submitted their votes (via snailmail and Internet). I have received 32 votesheets, so it's not as much as for the previous edition of "Attitude", but hopefully it is still a reasonable amount of votes, which let us creating serious charts chapter.

If you want to influence our charts, please fill the votesheet. You can get it via snailmail from me (just send a contact letter). It's also available at our official webpage:

http://attitude.oxyron.net

The way of presenting the charts has been unchanged since the last issue. Just to remind you the meaning of each column (beginning from the left side): current position, last issue position, name/title/handle, amount of points, amout of sceners voting for the entry...

That's it. Flip the page to see the actual rulers of the C64 scene...

8.(06) Fairlight 21 7
9.(05) Resource 19 5
10.(13) Padua 17 7

A lot of changes in the top 10 this time. Only first two positions seem not to be in danger. Quite a big step forward has been made by Arise, also Creators is climbing up. Plush and Resource are dropping, we're waiting for their new demos...

TOP 10 CODERS

1.(01) Crossbow/Crest 63 15

9.(08) Britelite/Dekadence 10 3
9.(12) Ed/Wrath Design 10 3

What can we see here? Krill and HCL switched their places, but they're very close to each other. A huge jump into the 4th place (from the 10th) has been made by Iopop. Oswald dropped down a few positions, but he surely will come back higher after releasing his new demo...

TOP 5 CRACKING GROUPS

1.(01) Remember 78 18
2.(02) Triad 53 13
3.(03) Nostalgia 34 11
4.(06) Hokuto Force 32 10

4.(03) Hok/Remember 12 4
5.(--) Rough 6 2

Remember bravely defends the top position, but guys from Triad are getting closer and closer... We can see Italian crew Hokuto Force succesively climbing up in the cracking groups category.

TOP 10 GRAPHICIANS

1.(01) Mermaid/Creators 74 19
2.(02) Jailbird/Booze Design 45 13
2.(03) Joe/Wrath Design 45 12
4.(04) Deekay/Crest 37 11

8.(08) Sander/Focus 14 5
8.(15) Twoflower/Triad 14 5
10.(05) Dane/Crest 12 5

A few very surprising changes in this chart. JSL got promoted to the 5th place, while Dane landed on the 10th. Other climbers are Joe, Katon and Twoflower. The first position is reserved to Mermaid, who was given the biggest amount of votes this time.

TOP 10 MUSICIANS

1.(01) Jeff/Crest/Viruz 46 13
2.(03) GRG/Onslaught 32 8
3.(02) Dane/Crest 31 9
4.(--) Wacek/Arise 18 6
5.(08) Drax/Vibrants 16 4
6.(14) Soundemon/Dekadence 15 4

8.(--) DJB/Onslaught 13 3
9.(09) Jammer/Samar 12 4
9.(06) Vip/Padua/Viruz 12 4

Old people entering the top ten confused me a bit, but that's your votes. What's interesting is that you have named the most different entries in this category (over 50 musicians!). I think that the first three places are sensible and well-deserved, aren't they?

TOP 10 MAIL TRADERS

1.(02) JSL/Protovision 21 6
2.(06) Rascal/Gold 20 6
3.(01) Commander/Role 17 5
3.(04) Variat/Excess 17 5
5.(07) Derbyshire Ram/Remember 15 4
6.(--) Sky/MDG 12 3
7.(--) Cobra/Fraction 11 4
8.(02) Almighty God/Onslaught 8 2
9.(--) Exile/Anubis 7 2
9.(05) Zapotek/Nostalgia 7 2

Old legends like Almighty God or Zapotek are falling down, while people like Robbie The Rascal or Variat are climbing up. This time the first place was achieved by JSL. It's also great to see that Barry (Derbyshire Ram) is still around. Remember guys, stamps back! ;)

TOP 10 PAPER ARTISTS

1.(01) Junkie/Extend 35 9
2.(08) Alg/Samar 25 6
2.(02) Electric/Extend 25 6
4.(06) Serio/Obsession 20 7
5.(09) Cuc/Obsession 16 4
6.(03) Mermaid/Creators 14 4
7.(04) Duce/Extend 10 3
7.(06) Variat/Excess 10 3
9.(--) Alm.God/Onslaught 6 2
9.(05) Zapotek/Nostalgia 6 2

Junkie has ruled the cover scene for a long time now. All three members of Polish cover group Obsession (Alg, Cuc and Serio) are climbing up, what's the result of their recent activity. We haven't seen anything new from Variat and Zapotek for a long time now, that's why they're so low...

TOP 10 DEMONSTRATIONS

1.(01) Deus ex Machina/Crest 44 12
2.(03) Royal Arte/Booze Design 27 8
3.(02) Insomnia/64ever 21 7
4.(04) Soiled Legacy/Resource 17 5
5.(08) Biba 2/Arise 15 5
6.(07) Industrial Breakdown/Booze Design 14 3
6.(04) Plush Y2k Bug/Plush 14 5
8.(--) Expectations 3/Wrath Design 12 4
9.(10) Altered States/Taboo 11 4
10.(09) Mathematica/Reflex 9 5

"Biba 2" from Arise came back to the 5th position. There weren't many changes in the first four. Nice to see a new production entering the chart (Wrath's "Expectations 3"). Only two oldie demos are still here, and they're "Mathematica" from Reflex and "Altered States" from Taboo.

TOP 10 DISK MAGAZINES

1.(01) Vandalism News/Onslaught+Wrath Design 105 23
2.(02) Domination/Independent 96 24
3.(03) Arachnophobia/Spiders-Crew+Role 56 18
4.(04) The Beergarden/Tide 34 11
5.(05) Scene World/People Of Liberty 24 10
6.(06) Rock'n Role/Role 16 9
7.(--) Publication/Civitas 15 5
8.(07) Internal/WOW 13 6
9.(--) Mail Madness 6 2
10.(09) Digital Talk 5 2

The situation on the magscene is very clear, it has been almost unchanged for a long time now. "Vandalism News" is still the favourite of the most readers, Jazzcat's "Domination" is close to it. I believe "The Beergarden" is a bit underestimated and it should deserve more attention.
