The Attitude is back!

It's been more than four years since the last issue of Attitude was released. It was the ninth issue, and there were no plans to make it the last one. However, one way or another the tenth issue never materialised. Although we (DJ Gruby, RRR and myself) sent some occasional e-mails to each other during the years that passed in some weak attempts to actually get the issue out, it just didn't happen. I really thought Attitude was dead and burried by now.

But no corpse is burried deep enough if you just have the energy and some shovels! So, here we are again, finally the tenth issue of Attitude is here to grace your screen!

So, when DJ Gruby approached me during the very last days of 2009 with the will to get the magazine back on track, I felt it was time to bring out my shovel and give him some help. I opened up the folder entitled "Attitude #10" on my personal computer and browsed through the articles I had written, four years earlier. It was, to say the least, amusing. Of course, none of those articles made it into this issue. They felt a bit dated, especially the news chapter...

Reading through that old unpublished news chapter made me reflect on a few things. First that there were some rather nasty remarks towards some well-deserving individuals. Too bad there has been so much water under the bridge that it would be totally pointless to include it in this issue... My second reflection was that there were news about some groups that no longer can be categorized as active. As sad as that might be, nothing points in the direction that our scene has declined since then. New groups have appeared and old ones have returned to activity again.

What is it that still motivates us to keep the blue screens glowing? There is probably as many answers to that question as there are active sceners. But, apart from the fact that the Commodore 64 is the best computer ever made, I want to highlight one very important motivational factor. Scene parties. Just home from Datastorm in Gothenburg, there is no denying that a good party boosts people into activity, both before, during and after the party. So, credits to the people who take on the task to organize meetings and parties! Without those events the scene would be a less lively place, and duller too.

That said, I hope the resurrection of Attitude also will boost people's activity, and that you will enjoy this brand new issue.
